Now this is where I have my first problem. My oldest daughter (8F) was immediately hooked, loving the avatars (monsters) she made.

My eldest (11M) said it was "fine" and a little "babyish" but that was fine, at least we could monitor his listening habits. So we downloaded the app, made a few accounts for my children, and asked them what they thought. When we did, we were intrigued because my children (11M, 8F, and 7F) were getting into music and we wanted to make sure they were listening to appropriate music. So my family has had Spofity Premium for about a year now, but we only just heard about Spofity Kids about month ago. Hi! Today I will share my thoughts on Spofity Kids. Thankfully, Spotify Kids allows you to view your child's entire listening history and block any songs you don't want played again from appearing, but it's difficult for a parent to catch everything possibly questionable without their kid hearing it first. Billie Eilish's "bad guy" is also available, with the lyrics "Bruises on both my knees for you" and "Might seduce your dad type". Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello's "Senorita" is available, which contains the word "d*mn" and the lyric "Ooh, when your lips undress me, hooked on your tongue". Spotify Kids recommends its "older" experience for ages 5-12, and some of the songs that they've picked out may raise an eyebrow for tweens and definitely for kids as young as five. (Parents can also add their own playlists with any music from the main app.) The "younger" experience for ages 0-4 is full of toddler-friendly tunes but will easily bore an older child. The interface is quite kid-friendly, though a little forcing in its hand of curated playlists versus letting kids search and play songs on demand.

Spotify Kids is an attempt at a safer Spotify experience for children, and for the most part, it achieves that.
